Description

Stratis is a blockchain development platform that make C#-programming based applications available using the Bitcoin blockchain. Whereas Ethereum utilizes mainly their Java-script and C++-based Solidarity language to reach a wide base, Stratis’s C# and .Net framework-based platform targets more established, complex enterprise solutions. C#, a language similar to Java, and .Net are used on many Microsoft platforms like Windows and Silverlight, as well as general web and smartphone apps. It is backed by Microsoft Azure, Microsoft’s cloud service, and is appearing on a growing number of exchanges and news reports.

Stratis is promising as it gives the robustness of C++ and Windows apps a way to utilize cloud computing on a massive scale. This is a step in the right direction for future computing. Stratis is early in development but promises to keep their framework simple to aid in mass adoption. Its partnership with Azure is interesting too, and expect to see some Windows apps utilizing cloud services via Stratis someday – mostly financial and business networking apps.
